The "points" theme keeps the geometry deliberately simple, and nothing else — which makes it a good excuse to map something Utah is known for: dark skies. Each point is a certified International Dark-Sky Park. Certification requires measured sky brightness and active light-pollution management, not just remoteness.

Keeping it Utah-centric

Rather than open the challenge with a generic dataset, this map stays Utah-only for the full month — a constraint that ends up shaping a lot of the later entries too. Each point marks a certified Dark-Sky Park, giving a simple, legible starting map for stargazing and astrophotography spots around the state.

Created for the “Points” theme of the 2024 #30DayMapChallenge.
